About WorkMath

WorkMath is a small set of free, browser-based calculators for hours worked, overtime pay, decimal hours, and PTO accrual. No accounts, no uploads, no tracking.

Who this is for

WorkMath is built for hourly workers, shift supervisors, small-business owners, and anyone who fills in a timesheet and wants to check the math before payday. If you have ever added up a week of punches on the back of an envelope, argued with a payroll total, or tried to work out whether "7 hours 45 minutes" is 7.45 or 7.75, these tools are for you.

Everything runs in your browser

None of the calculators send anything to a server. Your start times, pay rates, and balances are processed by a few hundred lines of plain JavaScript on your own device. The time card calculator can remember your entries between visits, but it does that with your browser's local storage, which stays on your machine and can be wiped with one click. There are no accounts, no cookies of our own, no analytics scripts, and no fonts or code loaded from third parties.

How the figures are kept up to date

Where a page relies on a rule that can change, such as the federal overtime threshold, state daily-overtime rules, or the 7-minute rounding convention, we state the rule in the text, cite the source where practical, and stamp it with a "Figures verified" date. When a rule changes, the text and the date change with it. If you find something that looks stale or wrong, please use the contact page; corrections are the most useful mail we get.

What WorkMath is not

These calculators are arithmetic aids, not legal or payroll advice. Overtime, meal-break, and leave rules vary by country, state, union contract, and employer policy. Use the results to check your own numbers, then confirm anything that matters with your employer or a qualified professional.
